Speaker receives general budget details
Manama, Nov. 30 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal has affirmed the council’s keenness on carrying out the royal directives to serve the nation and citizens.
She also underlined keenness on joint work and active cooperation with the government, led by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in discussing the state’s general budget for the fiscal years 2021-2022.
She stressed interest in serving the nation and citizens while taking into consideration citizens most in need and the exceptional circumstances caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The Representatives Council Speaker was speaking as she received in her office today Minister of Finance and National Economy Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Parliament Affairs Minister Ghanim bin Fadhel Al Buainin and Ministry of Finance and National Economy Undersecretary for Financial Affairs Yussef Abdullah Humood.
The meeting was attended by Representatives Council First Deputy Speaker MP Abdulnabi Salman Nasser, Second Deputy Speaker MP Ali Ahmed Zayed, Head of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee MP Mahmoud Makki Al Bahrani and Deputy Head of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee MP Ali Mohammed Ishaqi.
The Representatives Council Speaker received the detailed data of the state’s general budget 2021-2022 draft law. She voiced confidence in achieving the joint national vision between the executive and legislative branches when discussing the general budget 2021-2022, according to the legal and constitutional frameworks.
She also expressed keenness to come up with the best results to implement the comprehensive national vision and maintain social support for citizens most in need while committing to achieving the goals of the fiscal balance programme, increasing non-oil revenues and preserving citizens’ rights.
