Mr. Nawaf Mohammed Al Jishi, Chairman of the Bahrain Society of the Private Training Institutes (BSPTI), confirmed the training institutes ’readiness to accelerate the provision of qualitative virtual training for national cadres in public and private sector institutions if a clear framework of government support is available to train Bahrainis this relatively new type of training. He pointed to the significance of having a clear modus operandi among the partners of the training process, represented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, the Labor Fund “Tamkeen”, and training institutes to ensure that virtual or remote training achieves the goals of all parties participating in it.

This was discussed during his participation in the “Training and Institutional Prosperity” virtual workshop recently organized by the Education Committee of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, headed by a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Prof. Waheeb AlKhaja, with the participation of another board member , Mr. Ahmed Alsalloom. Al Jishi clarified that the training institutes realize that virtual training is based on modern models and technologies, it represents the future of training, and it carries with it great opportunities for expansion and profitability and helps training institutes to export their services and programs, especially after the exceptional circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the application of this type of training.

“Training institutes should not be left to face alone the challenges of transferring their programs, courses, and services to the Internet, as the shift from traditional training to virtual training carries many challenges and requires significant material and knowledge investments, therefore, we stress the importance of building on what training institutes have from accumulated experience, qualified work cadres, and good infrastructure, helping them to transform digitally in business and operating models.” Al Jishi said.

Al Jishi pointed out the significance of restoring government support as soon as possible to train Bahrainis traditionally or virtually, to save a large number of training institutes that are on the verge of bankruptcy, layoffs, and exit from the market, and to avoid the negative effects that will harm the training sector as a whole.

“Part of the support that training institutes can have is allocating financial packages to help them in the transition towards virtual training, building training simulation models in an environment that enables trainees to interact directly with three-dimensional shapes and models, and even adopting hologram, VR/AR techniques, all this require large investments that training institutes, in their current difficult condition, cannot afford on their own.” Al Jishi added.

At the conclusion of his participation, Al Jishi noted that the Bahrain Society of the Private Training Institutes, in the context of its social responsibility, launched (BSPTI- Contribution) initiative to provide remote training for Bahrainis who are looking for job opportunities in particular, with the participation of many training institutes under the umbrella of the Society, pointing out that it is a fruitful experience that demonstrated the ability of Bahraini training institutes to provide advanced and sustainable remote training services if the necessary support is provided.
