AGU professor among top authors in Arab
The Arabian Gulf University (AGU) recently attained a new achievement at the level of the Arab world with one of the University’s academics being selected by a leading organisation among the top 50 authors in the region for their reference citations.
This comes as Educational Psychology Professor at AGU’s Gifted Education Department Dr Abdulnasser Al Jarrah, who was selected by the Arab Citation and Impact Factor (ARCIF) in its 2020 journal citations report, bagging the 37th place among the best authors in Arab countries from a total of 152,000 authors in the region.
It is worth mentioning that ARCIF is a comprehensive database providing citations of peer reviewed academic journals in the Arab world, providing reliable, integrated and multidisciplinary data, linking the output and volume of citations to hundreds of thousands of articles published in Arabic, or in the Arab world, in various disciplines.
It is formed of representatives of reputed Arab and international organisations, such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Regional Office for Education in the Arab States, located in Beirut, Lebanon, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for West Asia (ESCWA) Committee, located in Alexandria, Egypt, e-Marefa Databank and the Special Libraries Association/Arabian Gulf Chapter (SLA/AGC).
Dr Al Jarrah has a long academic experience that exceeds 25 years and has published several researches in the different fields of psychology, including thinking development, basics in thinking skills, learning theories, educational psychology (theory and practice), extraordinary child psychology and thinking and decision making. 45 of Dr Al Jarrah’s scientific researches have been published in renown international and Arab scientific journals.
In his academic career, Dr Al Jarrah held several administrative positions, such as Deputy Dean for Scientific Research and Graduate Studies, and the Head of the Counselling and Educational Psychology Department at AGU. He also supervised a large number of graduate students in the Master’s and PhD programmes inside and outside the University, in addition to participating in the discussion of more than 120 Master’s and PhD theses in various psychological and educational disciplines.
