Bahrain and India have held their first meeting of the Joint Working Group in the field of Renewable Energy.

The virtual meeting was attended by President of Sustainable Energy Authority Dr Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, who led the Bahraini delegation and Joint Secretary, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy Dinesh Dayanand Jagdale who led the Indian delegation.

Bahraini foreign ministry officials and India’s Ambassador to Bahrain Piyush Srivastava also took part in the meeting, held in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to explore ways for cooperation in renewable energy.

The meeting builds on a Memorandum of Understanding signed between India and Bahrain in July 2018 for promoting bilateral cooperation in the field of renewable energy.

The two sides agreed to forge deeper ties in the field of solar, wind and clean hydrogen, share experience and best practices, initial cooperation plans, form a joint work team, and activate the relevant agreements between the two countries.
