Ambassador Al Saati and “BTECH”: Strengthening Russian-Bahraini IT relations

Within the scope of his tour to Bahraini civil society organizations, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Russian Federation, His Excellency Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Saati, met with the Chairman of the Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) Mr. Ubaidly Ubaidly, and the Society’s advisor, Mr. Ahmed Al Hujairy
During the meeting, they reviewed the updates of the ICT industry and its markets, stressing the significance of the achievements of this industry, especially in confronting the repercussions of COVID-19, as the algorithms that run remote communication programs, and the software related to AI and cybersecurity have alleviated the severity of these repercussions, and contributed to reducing the negative results of the pandemic.
His Excellency, Ambassador Saati noted the qualitative leaps that this industry has performed in the Russian Federation, benefiting from the rich Russian human resources expertise in this field. He pointed to the industry’s tendency to search for new markets in the Middle East and expressed his desire to build fruitful close relations between that industry and its Bahraini counterpart.
“Bahraini IT industry has the capabilities to open new markets not only in Bahrain and GCC but also in other Arab countries, utilizing the economic and legislative capacities that the Kingdom of Bahrain possess to help strengthen Bahrain’s position as an active gateway to the Middle Eastern markets that have a high percentage of the size of global markets.” HM Ambassador Al Saati said.
Mr. Ubaidly, for his part, reviewed the ICT industry and its market in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in addition to its eligibility to work on extending the cooperation with its Russian counterpart on the one hand, and its ability to exercise the role of an efficient gateway for the Middle East market to the Russian industry on the other hand.
The two parties discussed the activities and events carried out by BTECH, foremost of which is “MEET ICT “, which is the annual event held by BTECH together with “Virtual Bahrain” Forum. The two parties agreed on the necessity for cooperation with relevant Russian organizations and companies to contribute and sponsor some of these events, including hosting some of the highly qualified speakers in the field of ICT.
Mr. Ahmed Al Hujairy, BTECH’s advisor stressed that this meeting should result in a set of live programs and achievable plans that would boost the relationship between the two industries and open regional markets to their products.
At the end of the meeting, HE the Ambassador praised the achievements of ” BTECH ” in boosting the presence of the Bahraini ICT industry in the global markets, stressing the significance and necessity of strengthening its relations with its Russian counterpart to expand its international presence in this field, while Mr. Ubaidly hailed the achievements of the Bahrain embassy in Russia under the leadership of HE Ambassador Ahmed Al Saati, in the field of strengthening Russian-Bahraini relations at all levels, including the ICT sector.
