Oil Minister participates in regional meeting
Abu Dhabi, Dec.16, (BNA): Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil, participated in the ministerial meeting that included the ministers of energy from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Israel and the United States of America, which was held for the first time on the 15th of December 2020 from Abu Dhabi. with the aim of conducting a regional dialogue in furtherance of the Abraham Accords.
He affirmed that Bahrain's participation in this important ministerial meeting comes within the framework of the Kingdom's keenness, under the leadership of H.M. King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, to promote peace and cooperation among the people of the Middle East to support the efforts of the countries in developing in various fields.
he indicated that the energy, oil and gas sectors constitute a fertile environment that can be used in establishing partnerships and mutual investments and enhancing ways to benefit from the technical and human capabilities that these countries possess, and thus achieving growth for the economies and peoples of the region.
He confirmed that the meeting witnessed fruitful discussions on ways to enhance future cooperation between the participating countries in the fields of natural gas, oil, electricity and renewable energies. As well as the challenges that the energy sector faces due to the emerging corona virus and mechanisms to reduce its negative repercussions on the development process and the economies of countries.
The meeting dealt with setting up a strategic vision for the energy partnership between the Ministry of Energy and the Infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates, the Ministry of Energy in Israel and the Ministry of Energy in the United States of America, signed on October 1, 2020.
The ministers also discussed the expected impact of energy partnerships on supporting regional security, prosperity and peace efforts. By increasing investment in energy infrastructure and spreading innovative energy technologies to improve people's lives in the Middle East.
