Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) and 'WorkSmart' for events management have intensified their preparations to organise the Bahrain National Pavilion (BNP) at Gitex 2021.

This exhibition is considered the largest technical exhibition and conference to be held in the Middle East and will start from October 17 to the 21 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, and this year Gitex coincides with another international event, 'Dubai Expo 2020.'

The Bahraini participation in Gitex this year is gaining distinct significance, thanks to the addition of the “FinTech” section inside the gallery, and this opens the way for other Bahraini banks and financial institutions to showcase their most prominent services and products in the field of “financial technology”, in addition, the possibility of booking the schedule of participation in the events and meetings expected to be held on the sidelines of Gitex between officials, entrepreneurs, and experts to exchange experiences in all fields of the ICT industry.

The Chairman of the Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH), Ubaydli Ubaydli, stressed the organisers’ keenness to provide the largest available space for Bahraini participation in Gitex 2021, by expanding the space of the Bahraini National Pavilion this year and providing a distinguished strategic location in a way that guarantees to promote the participation of the Bahraini participants compared to other pavilions.

“The organisers aim to showcase the participation of Bahraini entrepreneurs in their designated pavilion, especially since the organisers of Gitex have been allocating a large space to display the products and services of Bahraini start-ups, their products, and services for interested Investors, taking into consideration that the size of start-ups economy during the pandemic reached $3 trillion,” Ubaydli said.

The Chairman of BTECH hailed the continuous support of Kamal bin Ahmed Mohamed, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, for the various achievements and initiatives of BTECH, referring in this context to the 15 years old fruitful partnership with the Labour Fund Tamkeen, during which Tamkeen's direct support for this event did not stop, and pointed out that the integration of such efforts had the greatest impact in advancing the Bahraini ICT sector.

Ahmed Al Hujairy, CEO of Worksmart, commented: 'We want to build on the successes achieved through Bahrain's participation for 14 years so far in Gitex, including participation in the last edition of the exhibition despite the challenges of the pandemic.'

“Throughout our participation in this exhibition, we are always keen to ensure that Bahraini ICT companies and entrepreneurs working in the ICT sector are at the heart of global developments related to various modern technology trends, including Fintech and topics of AI, and smart city developments, in addition to remote education, the future of transportation, supply chain, and blockchain technology,” Al Hujairy said.

It’s noteworthy that BTECH, represented by Ubaydli, and WorkSmart, represented by Al Hujairy, recently held a meeting in Dubai with senior officials of the Dubai World Trade Center, led by the General Manager of exhibitions in the centre, Trixie Loh.

The two parties discussed during that meeting the broad features to highlight the largest available space for Bahraini participation in Gitex 2021, by expanding the space of the Bahraini National Pavilion this year and providing a distinctive strategic location for it.
