Electricity Minister meets IMF delegation

Manama, May 12 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister, Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, today received a delegation from the advisory mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by assistant director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department Asmaa El Ganainy, in the presence of a number of officials from the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA).
The minister highlighted the achievements attained by the kingdom in the fields of electricity, water and renewable energy during His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s prosperous era, in line with the directives of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The minister and EWA officials reviewed the kingdom’s efforts to raise the efficiency of the electricity and water sector through the constant development of procedures, use of modern technology and adoption of the best international practices so as to continue achieving the forecast development goals.
They also highlighted EWA’s initiatives to enhance the quality of its electricity and water services to various social segments.
They also shed light on the kingdom’s unwavering efforts to develop its infrastructure services so as to be able to attract more investments, as part of the Economic Recovery Plan, as well as enhance the urban and economic development, in line with the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
The minister expressed thanks to Asmaa El Ganainy and IMF delegation for the efforts they are making.
Asmaa El Ganainy commended Bahrain’s efforts to provide high-quality services to the citizens and residents.
