Labour and Social Development Minister opens Forum

Manama, May18 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister has today opened the thirteenth Gulf sociologists forum, in the presence of Northern Governor Ali bin Abdulhussein Al Asfoor and other officials and participants from Bahrain and the GCC countries.
The Gulf Sociologists Association is organizing the seminar under the theme “Institutional networking For the Advancement of Social Professions' '.
The two-day event sheds light on the concept of institutional networking and highlighting outstanding experiences of Arab and international institutional networks working in the social field.
During the opening ceremony, the minister honoured sponsors who supported the activities and goals set by the Gulf Sociologists Association in addition to other outstanding members.
Addressing the event, praised the efforts undertaken by the association to step up cooperation and coordination between sociologists and societies in the GCC states.
He stressed the importance of such events in supporting national efforts to tackle social issues and problems and contributing to achieving sustainable development goals in the Gulf region.
“Bahrain has tasked a specialized team to network non-governmental organisations and contribute to building partnerships between civil society institutions”, he said
