Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) said that it would partner with the Company for Cooperative Insurance (Tawuniya) in Saudi Arabia to develop a specialized training program for Tawuniya employees on property and casualty insurance.

This program, launched at a ceremony in Riyadh, is within the development and modernization process carried out by “Tawuniya”, in line with the rapid changes in the insurance sector in the Kingdom and the region.

It is also in conjunction with the company’s new strategy 2025 to refine the skills and improve the capabilities of employees at all levels through high quality training.

BIBF Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh expressed pride in launching the program that seeks to hone the skills of Tawuniya employees and develop their professional capabilities, especially in accident and property insurance, by providing advanced training in line with the best international academic and professional education standards.

Al Shaikh pointed to the level of confidence local, regional and international institutions have in BIBF, which made it at the top of the academic institutions specialized in financial, banking and related studies.

The institute also provides academic expertise and technical capabilities that contribute to improving the quality of educational outputs as per international standards and criteria, he added.

Head of the BIBF Centre for Insurance Manal Mashkoor said the institute has extensive experience with the programs of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) in the United Kingdom, the leading provider in the world in insurance studies and accredits the majority of the units offered by the Institute.

It also offers 260 CII credit hours for its internal courses, as it is the only one in the Middle East and North Africa and the only institute in the world that offers an insurance diploma in Arabic, she added.

Tawuniya is a Saudi Joint Stock Company, and it was incorporated on January 18, 1986.

It is the first national insurance company licensed in Saudi Arabia to practice all types of insurance business in accordance with the cooperative insurance principle that is accepted by Islamic Sharia.
