In line with its commitment to promote and apply best practices within the field, National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has announced that it has secured the Business Continuity Management System Certification ISO22301:2019 after successfully completing all the necessary requirements.

The awarding of ISO22301:2019 certification marks a significant milestone in the bank’s journey towards enhancing its internal systems and processes, said a statement from NBB.

It ensures that the bank is aligned with the most stringent international standards to minimise the effect of disruptive incidents and their impact on its customers, stakeholders, partners and the community as a whole, it stated.

Group Head of BCM Mohamed Hammad said: 'The ISO22301:2019 certification marks a strong trajectory for us at the bank which reflects our ongoing efforts towards applying international standards to our day-to-day internal processes and operating environment.'

The certification is based on an independent assessment against the standard, which aims to cover various areas of the discipline of business continuity and resilience taking into consideration the readiness of all processes, people and technology, he noted.

Abdulla Naqi, Business Continuity Manager, said: 'This achievement will enhance our resilience and further strengthen our ability to manage business disruptions and threats by applying industry best practices across the bank.'
