Cityscape, the Middle East’s largest and most prestigious real estate event and property investor show, is set to inaugurate MEA Proptech Bahrain this November. Organised by Informa Markets, the event is held in partnership with RERA, Bahrain Economic Development Board, and ME Proptech Initiative, under the theme of “The beginning of a new era in innovation, transparency and sustainability,” and is in line with the government’s agenda to enhance the real estate sector.

The conference follows the Kingdom’s National Real Estate Plan 2021-2024, which will promote investment in the real estate market, safeguard stakeholders’ rights and nurture new and innovative real estate companies. Bahrain’s property market was growing strongly before the pandemic and has since risen by a significant 46 percent in 2021, versus 2020. Additionally, there has been a 35 percent increase in the total number of real estate transactions in 2021 when compared with the previous year.

“We are excited to host the first edition of MEA Proptech in Bahrain, as the sector is going through transformational change. Proptech represents the rising wave of real estate innovation that is disrupting the property market both regionally and globally, and we look forward to hosting insightful discussions on the future of real estate in Bahrain and the region”, Chris Speller, Vice President at Informa Markets said. “We’d like to thank the government of Bahrain’s support along with key local partners in the Kingdom that have helped shape this conference and are excited to host immersive and interactive discussions during the event.”

The focus of the conference will be on the technological advancements and sustainability practices in Bahrain, the GCC, and globally, along with the gaps for developers, and how proptech is driving cost-reduction, better efficiency, and improved customer experience. The event will feature participants from the region and beyond across different pillars from the real estate sector, including high-level dignitaries, regulators and government bodies, developers, occupiers, investors, Proptech hubs, technology companies and start-ups.

Confirmed speakers at the event include Amin Alarrayed – CEO of Edamah, Khaled Zaidan – Managing Partner at Watheeq Proptech Venture, Binoo Joseph – Group CTO/CIO at Emaar, Mete Varas – Founder at ME Proptech Initiative, Omar Abu Innab – CEO of Keyper, Sanjay Goyal – Managing Director at Estater and Wouter Truffino, Founder & CEO, Holland ConTech and PropTech.

The National Real Estate Plan, developed by the Kingdom’s Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), will focus on developing the proptech sector through forming an integrated ecosystem that attracts international companies. The plan expects to attract global experts in real estate technology and create high-income job opportunities.
