Leading GCC insurance provider Damana has entered the B2C digital market with a new motor insurance portal for Bahrain.

Through the new portal, commercial and private motor customers can obtain quick quote packaged options, with seven-day validity, and renew existing policies with successful transactions taking less than two minutes.

The user-friendly portal lets customers speedily upload photos and documents with an in-built Optical Corrector Recognition system then extract necessary data from the images to complete applications.

“Customer convenience is at the heart of this portal,” explained Georges Chidiac, CEO Damana Holding. “Customer preferences and expectations are demanding innovation for the digital era, and we are responding with a portal that is highly accessible, fast, efficient, and simple to use. It is a speedy, seamless sand easy digital experience which we hope will enable us to offer the best possible customer experience.”

While the portal currently offers only motor insurance for Bahrain, Damana plans to expand its product offering and geographic outreach offering tailored products for specific markets.

“We hope to take the portal into the rest of the GCC and to integrate additional offerings in the near future,” explained Chidiac. “By the end of Q2 next year we anticipate having rolled out customised products in the UAE, Oman and Kuwait.”

The portal marks the entry of Damana into the B2C segment. “The insurance industry is changing at an incredible rate thanks to FinTech innovation, and we need to adapt and innovate to meet new customer expectations for quick access to products and services,” said Chidiac.

“This portal signals the start of our intention to further penetrate the B2C insurance segment with digital innovation underpinned by our company’s robust 50-year history of serving the region.”
