Bahrain tops ladder in regulations, friendly visit visa rules

Manama, Nov. 17 (BNA): Bahrain has put in place one of the best laws for the visitors and perhaps tops in terms of processing time for stamping a visitor visa in just five minutes.

“Once I reached the customs and immigration desk it took hardly five minutes to complete the formalities and I was out,” Shunli Wang, Vice President of Huawei Middle East, said.

On his first visit, the Huawei executive termed the Kingdom’s best regulatory regime as well as the ease to enter the country one of the best and distinct in the entire Middle East.

Chinese tech giant Huawei seeks to strengthen its position across the Middle East by working in both public and private sectors in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cyber Security, training and capacity building.

In his first meeting with Bahrain based media Huawei senior executive discussed Huawei’s plans and strategy as well as possibly enhancing co-operation in capacity building by training a local talent.

“Huawei continues to train the local talent pool through various training and human capital development initiatives that be by supporting the local educational institutions or on job training openings,” he said.

“The readiness of Bahrain to take up challenges shows the country’s readiness to be a frontline player in the rapidly evolving ICT landscape.”

Regarding the most dynamic ICT innovation and solutions, he mentioned the AI deployment in oil and gas, cyber security, and digitization of the economy.

“I personally feel that innovation bringing the world closer to the digital population means deployment of robot technology across the broad spectrum of the national economy,” he said.

“The dream of digital population is something conceivable and keeping in view technology role in the future, Huawei had set aside $24 billion on research and development last year and that is going up to an estimated staggering $27 billion in 2022, showing the importance innovation for Huawei a global leader in technology and ICT solutions.”
